This tells us that scaling on Eyefinity is really going to be on a case-by-case basis and that simply assuming a 3x performance drop is both wrong and foolish. As we said, even with just a single Radeon HD 5870, Batman and HAWX were completely playable at 7680x1600 with 4xAA enabled! That is an impressive feat even though we are talking about frame rates in the 30s rather than the 60s that I know a lot of our readers will want. To that point, AMD is still committed to bringing CrossFire to Eyefinity in the future, just not soon enough for me.

Eh, if you watch the video it clearly states anti-aliasing doesn't currently work at all in Batman and only 2xAA works in Hawx...

The written article is contradicting thier own video.

In game AA isn't an option in Batman but we detect the game in our driver and allow it to be forced on by the control panel.

They say they tested with each screen at 2560x1600, but then when they shown screenshots of the setup options some titles are at 1600x1200, 1680x1050, etc. :?

Assuming all of these tests are done at 7680x1600, then the results overall are pretty promising. Since most of us aren't using triple 30" monitors, lower resolutions should fare better, and hopefully advances in hardware demand will be met with equal or greater advances in hardware.

In other configurations, high-resolution triplescreen gaming has been a true justification for SLI / CrossFire (perhaps the only real justification where the money spent gets you a meaningful performance increase). I imagine that when CrossFire/EyeFinity capability for the 5000-series arrives we will see that this is the case this time around as well.

My new 24's have been delayed from Dell yet again. Current ETA is 10/23. As soon as I get those I will be able to test 3x1920x1200.

yeah something is weird with their far cry 2, its all zoomed in.. not sure why but my 3x 24" works perfectly without any fov hacks or anything.

i had a buddy attempt to prove me wrong with pcper reviews, i had to show him myself that theres nothing wrong with eyefinity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exyBgKhLWTU @ 5760 x 1200

either way tho i would love to have 3x 30" dells in portrait lol

I Did the prformance test using hawx (Free DEMO) with all the settings set the same with the resolution the only thing different. 5040x1050

I got the following;

Max FPS: 245
Avg FPS: 97

Not bad, too bad the game is so lame I would've got it. IMO
