In benchmarking the 5870 for the site, the ATI software only allows 3x1920x1200 on my new Dell U2410s. I wanted to get 3x1680x1050 for completeness, and to compare to previous NVIDIA benchmarks.

I was able to run one U2410 (via DP) and two SP2208s (via DVI) at 3x1680x1050.

So, I can confirm that you can mix and match physical display sizes, but EyeFinity will use the "lowest common denominator" for your EyeFinity resolution.

I assumed this would be the case. Having a different size monitor but setting all of the them to the same resolution is something I was almost positive would be possible.

I suppose the question is why you can't set a specified resolution rather than it only allowing a resolution based off the lowest native resolution it sees.

I.e. why doesn't it allow you to set 1680x1050 for each of the three U2410's rather than it only allowing the native resolution.

OT: What are the bezels on the U2410's like (top of my list for my next upgrade) - same as the 2407/2408...?

software issue, I expect common resolutions to be fixed (like 3x 1680x1050)
however I don't know how ATI will handle non-standard resolution support

For me if I set a lower resolution than 5760x1200 in a game (there is one other surround res usually in games) then I get black bars on all 4 sides of the image on all 4 monitors rather than having it scale up to fit the whole screen making it pretty much impossible to play on.

I tried to make sure I had scaling turned on in both the monitor and the ATI CCC to no avail.

I do not recall setting my desktop resolution to a lower one though maybe that would work.

So far the only game I really needed a lower res for was Crysis.

How do you like the U2410's? I have the exact same setup 3x U2410 and a 5870, it took me a lot of work to color match the 3 panels and had to send two back due to color shifting from one side of the panel to the other (pink tint)

Now I just gotta deal with the grainy effect of the monitor and the dithering.

Really? Are the U2410's that 'bad' then? I thought they were the best.

The only other 24" DP panels I was looking at are the HP panels.
