I hear DX 11 is the next big thing, so if that holds true then 10.1 is now old news.

Gosh it just goes to show that DXxx is full of air. Buying hardware based on it's support of the latest DX is garbage. I remember when they were raving about DX10.1 just after I bought a DX10 card that didn't support DX10.1 and I was tempted to feel dissappointed before I remember that 10.1 would be full of Ese.Hach.Eye.Tee.

I don't know where you heard they were going to be released now, but generally you should look more towards the middle of the month for Cat releases.

I actually could not tell you other then all over the place and I am being honest. There has been a lot of talk about 10.1 on many forums so I was just going off of that. I also thought I heard something on this forum or a ATI video on you tube showing a cedar 5350 or something that was mentioned to be released today as well.

Can you share anything about the next driver. Is anything being fixed for current 5 series cards with Eyefinity issues? Do you know if the shortcuts fix will make it into this driver or not? Performance increase maybe? Or is it just a driver to enable the 3D.

I don't think I've ever seen a Catalyst monthly release before the middle of the month in question, and a couple of times I've seen them come toward the end of the month (like, say, the fourth week...)

I did find this which is good read. :)

AMD has supplied us with a document giving information on the improvements that will be implemented over the course of the next months in Catalyst drivers:

- CrossFire X profiles per application will now be in a separate XML file that it will be possible to update independently of the driver itself
- ATI CrossFire X with PowerPlay for the Radeon 5x00s: reduced energy consumption of additional cards
-AMD Dual Graphics: Possibility of combining performances of the IGP of the RS880 with the forthcoming entry level GPUs from the Cedar and Park ranges.
- 3D Stereoscopics: Update of the D3D driver so as to allow third party firms such as IZ3D to use their 3D solution with 120 Hz screens. Support for Bit Cauldron glasses.
- Eyefinity: Bezel Management
- Better GPU acceleration in Windows 7 Video Converter
- Support for DisplayPort Audio (already in the 9.12 hotfix)
- If laptop manufacturers allow it, possibility of installing the Catalysts on a laptop in Vista and 7
- Improvement of 2D performance in Linux
- Support for Ubuntu 9.10 and OpenSUSE 11.2
