I have a Samsung SyncMaster 244T as seen below:

It's a 16:10 aspect ration... Obviously the 24" market is flooded with 16:9 monitors right now for great prices... Can I run this 16:10 with two 16:9s on either side for an Eyefinity setup? Or will i need to buy 3 monitors?

Thanks for any help.

You could go with 1920x1080, however all 3 monitors would have to run that resolution which would make the 1920x1200 (native) stretch vertically.

Is there a reason why you wouldn't just pick up 2x more 1920x1200? You can pick up the

HP LP2465 which uses the same exact Samsung S-PVA panel as your original for under 200$

Keep in mind with this solution you'd have no native displayport, which has it's own set of issues...

I guess I just wanted to stick with Samsung for one. Recertified monitors leave me with doubts in their reliability.

I guess I liked the idea of going to my local Best Buy and picking up a couple 16x9 Samsungs if the stretch on my 16x10 wasnt gonna be that big of a deal.

Always go with Native Resolution, you will only run into trouble if you don't.

You should stay with all 3 monitors being the same too, as for color variations should be less then if not.

Hopefully you have at least the HD5870, the HD5970 would be better for you with the higher resolution, or even better yet, 2 HD5870's.

There is a link to the hardOCP review on this forum of all the 5000 series cards in regard to resolution and frame rates by cards, personally when they say the 24" is the norm for Eyefinity, I wonder if that is true?

Maybe someone should start a Poll here on what we all run our Eyefinity on, I would tend to think it was 22" not 24".

If any of this helps?
