So i am looking to do an Eyefinity setup and would like suggestions/help with what to buy. I currently have an i7 920 on an asus p6t Mobo with 6 gigs of ram in a HAF932. Current Vid card is a 4870x2. 2 Monitor setup(dell 22" and samsung 19"). this has served me well over the last few years but i have a bonus burning a hole in my pocket and figure this might be fun to try.

So my budget is roughly $1500. I need 3 monitors a 5800 series card and possibly a monitor stand if it can be worked into the budget.

Any suggestions would be a great help as i feel a bit overwhelmed with my choices and would hate to make a bad decision.

DisplayPort capable monitors will save a world of potential headaches, I think... which means things like the Dell P2210H, U2410 and 3008WFP. The last two are rather pricy and so will take you well out of budget... three P2210H's and a 5870 seem like a good combo. Unless more DisplayPort capable screens come out, that's probably the route I'll choose for EyeFinity, despite the fact that I'd prefer to get U2410s...

Thank you for the reply Paradigm i appreciate it.

I was looking at doing this as well, but wanted to see if there was a better way or possibly more bang for my buck way of doing this. Yeah the U2410 is really nice but at a ridiculous price!

Are there any caveats to hooking up 3 U2410 to 1 5870? It looks like ill have to buy the dp cables. Any direction on what i will need would be appreciated.

Would the 3 monitor stand be worth it? or will just the base stands be sufficient?

I believe ill be getting the U2410 contrary to my previous statement :) any help would be nice. Also a single 5870.

You will need one DP cable, and two DVI cables. The 5870 has one DP, one HDMI and 2 DVI connectors.

I actually may be selling my U2410's, so you could pick them up at a bit of a discount. I've had them about four months, and they have a three year warranty. May be a week or two before I can turn them. When are you looking to buy? I've got original packaging, sound bars (I set them up for surround with left, right and center) and cables from Monoprice.

Also, I'm a big fan of multi-monitor stands. You can see a couple of reviews here. There is a WSGF coupon for 10% of the Ergotech mount I reviewed. The 2410's are great. They are big and heavy, so you'll want a solid stand.

Also, the 5870 works great. You can see some benchmarks I've run by clicking the "Benchmark" link in the left nav. I'm finishing up a whole set of benchmarks all the way from the 5870 to the 5450. I'm testing nine games total, from 1680x1050 all the way through 5760x1200.

The 2410's work great. I just have the opportunity to get six matching panels to test the Eyefinity6, and I think I'm going to do that.

Unfortunately im using credit with dell to purchase to defray the cost a bit. How much were you selling them per monitor? If you dont mind me asking what monitor are you going with?
How is the size of the bezel? I'm seriously worried about that part of this being distracting.

I'm using 3 eMachines, which have a thicker bezel than most would find comfortable (about 3/4 to 1 inch bezel) and I can guarantee you, no one I have had play my computer can notice the bezels. Once you start playing, your eyes just fill in what's not there in your head. It all becomes one big picture.
