please help.. I did all my research on the matter and read all the threads pertaining to this matter prior to posting this. My system specs is listed in my signature..

Basically the card works fine with 2 of my monitors (they are all DVI).. when I try to use the displayport output on my 3rd monitor, that screen won't turn on, and it gives me a message saying displayport link failure. I am using the ACTIVE displayport-DVI dongle from Dell.ca

The strange thing is the screen with the display port dongle will work if I set it to a lower resolution, like 1280x1024.. But as soon as I set it back to 1680x1050 (native res of the monitor), it doesn't work again..

I tried plugging the dongle on the motherboard USB as well as the USB hub but to no avail..

Based on my own experience so far, I would avoid the active adapter/s and get a DP -> VGA adapter. I had all kinds of problems with an ACTIVE adapter. Since getting the passive Monster brand, DP-> VGA adapter, I've been in Eyefinity glory. :)

Too bad the dongle doesn't work for you. At least the solution is a fairly cheap one with just having to get the VGA adapter.

Hey I was having this same issue last night. Previously I had my rig working perfectly with the 10.1 drivers and a Bizlink active adapter. I reformatted last night and used the newest 10.7 drivers and the DP screen would not work!!! I finally got it to display something by setting the resolution lower. Well long story short I reverted back to 10.3 drivers and it's working fine again at all resolutions. So give this a shot. I don't buy this if it doesn't work in the first 5 minutes throw it out idea. Give the older drivers a try and complain to ATI that something broke between 10.3 and 10.7. It really irks me that I cannot use the latest drivers.

My 2 cents

Austin

May I clarify that that VGA adapter is still active, it get's it power from the DP port. It has to do a digital to analog conversion.

I recommended Monoprice's MiniDP->VGA Adapter. I know a lot of other people also use the nor DP->VGA adapters and don't have any issues with them.
http://www.Monoprice.com

Some one else on here really recommended monster cable brand (even though they're way expensive).

Well I have tried using the Accell and the Saphire dp>VGA adapters, and both have failed me. The local Fry's had the monster one, but it was $10 more. I am going to pick it up and try it tomorrow. I will tell you if it works for me.
