I got an active adapter, and two 5870...

when I connect only one card and the adapter, I get no image from the monitor on the dp.

when I connect the other card with cf disabled I can set 5040 and the dp works...

I changed the cards and the problem is still the same...

help ?

Stupid question: Did you connect the adapter to USB which is powered?

Did you also check in CCC that the third monitor is detected?

What type of adpater (exactly) are you using?

AND: did you also watercool your Dell monitors

What happens when you replug the DP or USB connector?

After it went black, could you still see the monitor (albeit turned off) in CCC?

Do you use Accell UltraAV B087B-002B? What revision Firmware do you have?
Should have 2.0.. http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx

Check for a sticker on the adapter or on one of it's cables..

Just for the record: look for "firmware" not the "revision"

Also take a look on this thread: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=17012&start=450

Ok, things are like that.

10.4 driver, the monitor with the dp adapter will try to turn on and then go to standby... and again.

10.3, all is good for 20-30 secs, then the monitor will go black.

ef+dp=ok
* ONLY THIS WAY for me, for now*
- I install two cards
- disable cf
- connect all monitors to the second card (the most distant from the cpu)

ef works... for more then 20-30secs :) but no cf....

I should get nv... I knew it.

Yeah, i know.. it's a bitch.

Guess NV will have it's own set of problems though

Strange to see it works OK on the lower card.. Are you able to create an Eyefinity group?

Because you have watercooled everything it obviously not that easy to remove the lower card is it?

Otherwise start with checking with one card only to rule out other "problems". I think what i learned with Nvidia is: get one card running then set up SLI!! Probably works the same with ATI.. (i have a 5970 by the way)

And the the mandatory question: How big is your PSU? Seems nowadays this is the first question you get on forums.. Except on Eyefinity ones where they ask you "did you plug the USB plug in an external power adapter?"

Any news on what bios version the adapter has?

Thanks for the answer.

Yes I can create ef group.

well, with one card I cant get the dp to work, it display ok post and bios screens and all the screen of windows 7 64 installation, but when the driver kicks in the dp goes black... with 10.3 It will display normaly for 20-30secs.

I got a 850W PSU and I have a W meter - im @ 400-500W~

no I see that not only the cf is off the upper card is "disabled"...
