Greetings folks,

I'm currently running a pair of VisionTek 6850s in Crossfire. My primary monitor is a 27.5" Hanns-G, but I've scrounged up three older LCD 1280x1024 panels. I want to set up what's referred to in the AMD FAQ as a "3x1 Display Group Plus 1 Extended" setup. The three 1280x1024 panels will be in the Eyefinity display group, with the 27.5" panel as an extended. My goal for this setup is to be able to play both TF2 and FSX; TF2 on the Eyefinity group or extended depending on mood, FSX with out the window view on the Eyefinity group and gauges on the extended panel.

The 6850 has four ports; 2xDVI, 1xHDMI, 1xDP. I understand (and have tried without success) that the HDMI vs DVI is an either/or aka can't use both at the same time.

What do I need to set up this configuration? I'm going to have to order the DisplayPort cables from Newegg (can't find locally) so I want to get it right the first time. The 27.5" panel has DVI/VGA/HDMI ports. The 1280x1024 panels all have DVI/VGA ports.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards,
John E.

Yello,

I don't think its possible on your card, the two DVI and the HDMI all share the same channel, as such you can only use two of them at a time. The DP is another matter, when the DP Hubs start coming out (assuming there not already) you should be able to connect 3 monitors up using that.

I think the FAQ you was reading was for the 6950 / 6970.
