Post subject:  Catalyst Control Center not updating to newest version.

Hey guys, so I've been using my eyefinity setup for a few months now with no real issues. But recently I've heard how a new version of the CCC came out. I update my drivers usually as soon as a new update comes out (either by randomly checking steam or seeing info about it on this site), and I install the application profiles as well. So naturally I expected that I would have the newest version of the CCC ( and eyefinity 2.0 ). As you can see in this screenshot of my desktop...
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/84/desktop2k.jpg/ the red circle on the left shows the driver that I've got installed (I just uninstalled and reinstalled it to see if that would work) and the circle on the right shows that the new features are not there. I saw a screenshot from somebody else showing that there were tabs for positioning your taskbar and stuff, which are not present in my version.

I've got a Radeon HD 6970, so if I've somehow misinterpreted what options I SHOULD have (maybe they're only available for the 7000 series) then I apologise, but I feel as though something isn't right here. All my games work just fine, all my programs open and close in the same place bla bla bla. So in that regard there's nothing wrong, but I would like to try using the taskbar just in the center because I don't like it stretched across the whole desktop (and to know everything's working fine of course).

If you guys need me to give any more information I'll do my best to help, I work tomorrow morning so I'll be gone for the day, but I will be back to answer any questions later that night. Thanks in advance!

PS. Oh, and is there an advantage to using 6028X1080 instead of 5760X1080? I understand in games 6028X1080 takes your bezels into consideration, which I like. But is there a difference when using it as my desktop resolution (and will it stop my programs from MOVING AROUND ON ME ALL THE TIME!?!).

Post subject:  Might be me beeing completly

Might be me beeing completly off, but i thought centered Task bar was introduced in 12.2 CCC!

But i had some problems with Centered Taskbar while trying out some Beta driver, thats when i realised that if you don't change CCC only Display Driver it's still possible for CCC features ( like centered Taskbar) to get deactivated!

So, do you need centered taskbar right now? Or could you wait some more weeks? AMD should fix this.

bout 6028*1080 @Desktop resolution! Bad idea! Why ? When you put your windows behind the bezel, can you still read your emails or browse the web? it's just not neccesary for Desktop usage!

Ähhh What? could you explain that once more please ? ^^

I just leave my PC on a bezel corrected resolution all the time.

Who reads emails that are split across two monitors, regardless of whether or not you have bezel correction? You always move it to one monitor to read. To me, this is not an issue.

Back to the original question, you're using 12.1. I am pretty sure you need 12.2. This is still a Beta so you won't automatically get updated to it yet. I installed the 12.2 drivers and CCC and I can center my taskbar already using it. You can find the details including where to get it in this thread.

Post subject:  Aha! I didn't know 12.2 was

Aha! I didn't know 12.2 was still beta. That explains why I don't have it then...

As for the desktop resolution... My bezels already coverthings behind them even at this resolution... Any programs I use are on one monitor anyways, so that's not an issue. And as for programs moving... Every time I play a game in fullscreen my programs that are open will move to the right a little. It's quite frustrating. I was told that they do that because the resolution is different from my desktop resolution, so if I was to change my desktop resolution to what I usually try to play my games in it should fix the problem right?

Thanks for letting me know about 12.2 being in beta though, I'm now looking forward to its release!

Yes that should help!

Post subject:  Can't update past 12.1 either, and no Performance.

Hey, I'm having the same problem. When I got my new video card about a month ago, I updated the drivers right away to 12.1. Now when I try updating to 12.4, it still only registers as 12.1. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling several times, but no luck. I've even tried installing the 12.3 drivers, and got the same results. Also, the "Performance" option on the left side is always missing, so the ability to overclock is gone. I don't know if it wasn't introduced until 12.2, but every single review I've seen of CCC has it present.

I have:
Intel Core i5-2390T @ 2.70 GHz
8GB DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6790, 1GB GDDR5
Windows 7 64-bit

Everything runs fine, but I also really like having the latest drivers. I also like having all the options available!
