What connection do you use on you GPU ? 1x DVI to DVI monitor 1x HDMI to HDMi Monitor 1x DVI with adapter to VGA Monitor ? If yes, that doesn't work! only sapphire FLEX cards support that setup! If you want to use 3 or more Monitor you're limited to 2x DVI or 1x DVI + HDMI Output on your GPU! |

AMD HD Radeon 7850 1 x DVI to DVI 1x VGA to VGA 1 x Display Port to HDMI I use the DVI, VGA and Display port on the 7850 This is what I read that should work. I had to buy the Display port - HDMI cable because on the AMD website it sais thats what was needed for 3 monitors for my card |

No I don't use that, I use: 1 DVI to DVI monitor (24") 1 DVI-Convertor-VGA to VGA monitor (24") 1 Display port to HDMI Television (24") |

Are you sure that this is an active DP -> HDMI adapter ? Try using only the DVI + HDMI Monitor and see if that works in extended mode, then plug the vga monitor and see what happens. |

What is this "active" part you speak of? |

There are Activ an Passiv Adapters out there! An Active Adapter means that your GPU gives a Displayport Signal, this is converted by the chip in the adapter into a HDMI signal. A Passive Adapter means that your GPU gives a HDMI signal out trough the Displayport connection which uses a Displayport to HDMI cable. In this case it seems you have a Passive Cable and not an Active Adapter. Few years ago you needed an USB Powered Active adapter, nowadays you find Active adapter who work with the internal Voltage the Displayport provides. |

Active adaptors are usually like 3 times the price too!! This is the mini DP adaptor I got for my 7950 http://www.ebuyer.com/340944-mini-displayport-to-dvi-active-adapter-mdp2dvis no I did not pay £38/$60(ish) I paid about £15 as they had them on special! |

I don't know what to think by now,... I've a HD 7850 with 3 LG E2341v monitors connected (2 by DVI and the third using HDMI),... The three of them are perfectly working (right out of the box) on my linux setup, but when i boot up on windows,... crap,... I guess is the driver that forces me to choose 2 of them, not finding a way that lets me use the three of them... If you tell me that I need a Active DisplayPort ,... then why does it work on linux without a problem? Any idea of how can I tweak the driver? I don't need eyefinity (I find it pointless, since I use it for software development) Thx a lot in advance,... |
