5X1 has been fixed with 11.10 beta2 for 6990/5870 Eyefinity 6:
Enables support for AMD Eyefinity 5x1 display (portrait and landscape) configurations using the AMD Radeon HD 6000 and AMD Radeon HD 5000 series of products.

Nthusim Plus has edge blending now and as Hawthorne said, 3X1L 1080P should work just as good. Everything should be good now. :)

Also check Pixelwix Pixelwarp Sgl2.
does 6x1 or 5x2 with adjustable edge blend and advanced color matching.
