Well according to this helpo site from matrox you do get it in the edit mode list, look to the bottom ..highlighted in green

new WHQL 178.13 I can also confirm that they wont work in 5040x1050. And I installed the Nvidia WHQL 178.13 freshly then uninstalled the PowerDesk and reinstalled it still nothing is available.

We probably only need to wait for Matrox to release a new version of the PowerDesk to make it possible.

Sorry mate, but thats the 'change mode' option not the 'edit mode' option, If the button on the right of that screenshot (edit mode list) was clicked, I can guarantee 5040x1050 wont be there.

I think the problem is that 5040x1050 is shown as a custom resolution when you look at the Nvidia control panel, and for some reason DX10 just doesn't work (yet) with surround sized custom resolutions.

OK I see what you mean, I was not being accurate.

In 177.41 I get the 3x1680x050 in the change display mode list (and it works fine..DX9 anyway ;) )

In 178.13 and the earlier BETA I don't get it on that list and cannot select it :(

Yep me and you both mate!

Xp 32 bit 178.13 works fine at 5040x1050 (DX9)

Vista 64 bit - no chance. The resolutions as you say, don't even appear in the 'change mode' option. I can force 3840x800 (which I think is the highest resolution you can add) in the edit mode option, but again this only works in DX9 mode.

Obviously it's a problem in vista 64 but I'm not sure if it's due to Microsoft's lovely OS, Nvidia's ridiculous drivers or Matrox's lack of compatibility with all of the above.

I guess I'm still peeved at the 'requires DirectX10 card but wont work in DirectX10 mode' slogan.

Are you really unable to use that max res with that driver ? (Just asking - still using 177.41 here...)

Don't rely too much on the GXM list, sometimes it'll show 3x 1680x1050, most of the time it won't - but this mode is automatically activated and available anyway. Just use the Windows Display Properties slider instead of GXM's Mode Changer... and don't hesitate to try a cold boot after updating graphics card software, the TH2G seems to appreciate it.

Yep the slider stops at what ever you have set in the custom mode list.

After first installing the new driver and a fresh copy of gxm with the monitor using the gxm.inf the max res available is 1920x1200...1 monitor. I can then use the gxm to 'open up' triple res by adding them in the 'edit mode list' but the max one there is the 1360x768 one.

If you manage to get it working please do tell, it has a lot of SLI improvements!

All I can do is confirm it doesn't work (178.13, Vista64) :(

I have 3 preset modes I can cycle through with a Hotkey : 1680x1050, 3360x1050 (dual), 5040x1050 (triplehead). With 178.13 installed, no more 5040, nothing happens. Back to 177.41, everything's ok.

What could possibly be wrong with an updated graphics driver that would remove access to a certain resolution ? :?

It ALMOST worked! I could select 5040x1050 using the latest driver (178.13) with the new GXM. However when I do so the centre monitor gives me an out of range error (i.e. it cannot display the res/refresh rate it is getting). Since it displays on the old driver and GXM fine with the new driver and/or GXM it is obviously not putting out 1680x1050@57Hz on the centre monitor but some other res/refresh rate.

If anyone else wants to try the new GXM (and can tell me how to upload a file!) just say so...maybe it is an error with my system only. Though I doubt it :)
