Just installed Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 and previous to that I was using Beta build 7000.

Under the beta version, I ran NVidia Windows 7 beta driver 181.71 and the beta gxm and was able to get 5040x1050 without a problem.

There is a new NVidia beta driver 185.81 so I thought I would install it with RC1 and beta gxm. Unfortunately I couldn't get the wizard to set res at 5040x1050.

I rolled back to 181.71 and re-ran the wizard and I was able to setup 5040x1050 res again np.

I would recommend sticking with 181.71 and beta gxm on Windows 7 versions atm. Anyone else have any luck?

I'm running the same thing as you, nVidia 181.71 and the beta GXM and it runs fine with the exception of 2 instances of WoW. When I have one instance of windowed WoW open it runs fine, when i open another one my video card seems like it has a heart attack, i get like 1-2 frames on each instance of WoW. I had a video playing in the 3rd monitor and it stopped completely. Anyone has have this problem? Or anyone else have a newer combination of drivers that work?

185.81 issues are nvidia driver issues, not Win7.

When I start my computer in Windows 7 RC1 (7100) it automatically is starting in 5040x1050. I rarely have to reset the res anymore leaving a game it just stays in 5040x1050 which is awesome

Just wanted to report that I am using Win7 with the RC build 7100. I have 5040 x 1050 working ... but I had to use the 181.71 set of drivers. I initially tried the brand new 186 beta builds, but they did not work -- so I had to fall back to the 181 release. I am running the x64 version of Win 7. Does anyone know if any of the other driver sets more current than 181 work properly with the high rez? Also is this set of problems a known issue and scheduled to be fixed by Nvidia as a bug? Kind of annoying for sure to have to use an older driver.

David

Hi, from what I read in another post, the 182.50 whql driver for Win 7 rc1 works as well, still unfortunately not the latest driver..

So far the 185 and 186 ones don't work based on testing, definitely a nVidia issue, going to keep testing them as they come out and see.

Hey there, please give the 190 series driver a test (get it on Guru3D.com), Ive had some success with it on Vista (same problem with the 185 as Win7):

Anyone had success with an ATI card in Windows 7? Preorder pricing was announced today & I want to get it for $99 if it's going to work at launch.
