Hmm, tried that and it does indeed change the rates for the monitors.

However now even the 226BW complains about not optimum if I use those settings LOL.

I think that thread is for an older version of PowerDesk-SE, since I have no problem with the 5040x1050 modes showing up, I just have a problem with the sync range.

With those custom settings the monitor OSD menu shows the following on all three monitors:

Digital
59.4kHz 56Hz PN
1680x1050

So at least it's changing the rate. Now if I can find the magic settings to push that 59.4kHz to 60.0kHz, I may be ok.

---

As per that thread however, I did not get the "warning about reverting or keeping current display setup, select keep. Reboot. It will come up again and may ask for another reboot, do it as required.".

GXM didn't report any problem at all however I am running the latest drivers etc from Matrox.

On to more hunting....

If anyone has had any luck with the 2253BW, please let me know.

Tim

Sorry Tim,

I forgot to mention that in the cutom resolution setup I've set the "GDI Refresh Rate" value to 60 but all the other settings are exactly the same as for the 5040x1050 @ 57Hz custom settings. After I made the change from 57Hz to 60Hz the error messages stopped appearing.

Not sure if this will help you or not. I can post some more screen shots of my settings once I get home from work.

Wait! Maybe I'm an idiot.... lol.

With those settings from the original post, all monitors get the OSD message but if I clear the message, all the monitors stay on!!!!!

Never thought to try waiting longer to see if they would still blank. So far it's working!

I can put up with the annoying message upon bootup if that is all I have to endure.

Time to leave it running for a bit and then test Team Fortress 2 etc.

Thanks, will keep you posted!

Tim

Just to follow up to my messages in this thread, OSD message is solved by using Nigels method of changing the 57Hz to 60Hz and then performing the CTV and Manual settings as per the original thread.

Samsung 2253BWs working perfectly now at 5040x1050!

You may want to try out a custom resolution on the nvidea control panel. You have 15 seconds to confirm it works before it reverts to the original. If your stuck, instead of having to restore, just unplug yout TH2G box and plug in 1 monitor; Windows should recognise the new monitor and change down to a suitable resolution.

As a note, on my Dell 2208WFPs, I have to run the scaling at 1:1 for 5040x1050 to work properly. Otherwise it cuts off the bottom of the screen. 4320x900 (and everything else) is fine with "fill" scaling. The OSD shows 5040x1050 at 57Hz.

Nice these are what i was looking for to see if they worked because the are $200 direct right now and seem like they would be good monitors.

Have some pics for me? :P

I think it may be a good idea to wikify this information if we have not already.

I have just finished reading this whole thing and was wondering if someone already tested the new Samsung T220

New year's resolutions time... I've challenged myself to update the list.
If only I knew what the indigenous code is for those clean little black dots the original list has and I can't even put an english name on !! :x (Edit : thanks, that was... eZ'.)

[EDIT]

[list]Known working:
[*]LG L227wtg[/*:m][/list:u]
[/EDIT]

Is this the same as:

LG TFT L227WT-PF

I like the design of the LG over the Samsung T220 (don´t like the red)
