We get asked lots of questions about the TripleHead2Go's ... Matrox TripleHead2Go Analog Edition Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition Hopefully the information below will clarify what they are capable of with regard to widescreens ... First off ... With the TH2G or the TH2GD all three monitor use the same resolution. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The TripleHead2Go Analog Edition does not do 16:10 resolutions ... The only widescreen resolutions it does do are ... 3840x720 (triple 1280x720) 60Hz ... 3 x 16:9 and 3840x768 (triple 1280x768) 60Hz ... 3 x 15:9 So you will have a distorted image whatever you do if you use 16:10 monitors. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new TripleHead2Go Digital Edition has one 16:10 widescreen solution ... 3840x800 (triple 1280x800) 60Hz ... 3 x 16:10 So using this you will not have a distorted image ... assuming your monitors can do 1280x800. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In both case for widescreens and TripleHead the resolution is quite low To see more info about the products (on the Matrox site) click these links ... Software solution ... You can game on three screens with higher resolutions including widescreen resolutions using SoftTH. It requires two PCI-E GPUs ... you will have to run in non-SLI mode (it does not work in SLI) ... but the second card can be a "slower" one. SoftTH requires modified files in each game's install folder in order to run at TripleHead, and the internet is full of people trying to get it to work. It also comes with a frame rate hit from syncing the output of two video cards. It will allow for monitors with different aspect ratios .... such as a widescreen in the middle. |

Migrating this information from JKeefe's original post, to reduce the number of stickies: For some reason Matrox does not publish the full list of resolutions supported by the Analogue and Digital TripleHead2Go products. Here it is. |
