I have a TH2G Analog. Running FSX at 3840x1280 requires that I restrict my graphics and scenery settings (as compared to a single monitor) in order to avoid loss of menu text and blurries.

I was wondering if the TH2G Digital would allow me to increase my graphics and scenery settings over those I am now using with the analog version. My monitors have both analog and DVI inputs so the upgrade would be relatively simple. But would it significantly improve my graphic performance?

I have an nVidia 8800 GT 512MB video card.

The graphics performance depends on resolution that you're using. It doesn't matter if you're using analog or digital video signal.

Agreed - any text issues or blurriness you are having is a function of your GPU and/or your video drivers and should not be affected by the TripleHead2Go.

Thanks guys for the input. I few comments about the last response, and please do let me know if I am mistaken.

It is my understanding that my text and blurry issues are not directly related to my video card or drivers. For example, if I reduce my graphics and scenery settings, I no longer have the problem. This suggests that I am stressing the card's capabilities, not that there is a problem with either the card or the drivers. Also, this problem has existed over multiple driver upgrades.

Thus my question was whether there would be more headroom for graphics and scenery settings with the digital version of TH2G.

If, as the first response indicates, it will make no material difference whether I am using a digital or analog TH2G, then another possible option would be to get a higher spec video card than my nVidia 8800 GT 512MB. And here the question is whether there will be any material improvement sufficient to make such an upgrade cost effective.

Don't you mean 3840x1024? If you're internal scaling to 3840x1280 there could be your text problem. Although I don't know how TH2G would lock in at that resolution.

You're absolutely right. I misstated my resolution. It is 3840x1024. Sorry for the confusion. And many thanks for pointing this out. If I were running at the resolution that I mistakenly wrote in my initial post, that would indeed be a likely source of the problem. But I was sure to purchase 3 identical 1280x1024 monitors before purchasing the analog TH2G several years ago.

That's not true, 3840x1024 is stretching the limit of VGA bandwidth, so it will be far more blurry than DVI 3840x1024.

That's kind of what I was thinking when I posed my question, but I was looking for some expert opinion to validate my thoughts.

Needless to say, this is all very confusing to me. I appreciate the assistance I've been provided and look forward to any further thoughts anyone might have.

No ... the TH2G Digital is not going to significantly improve your graphic performance or allow you to increase your graphics and scenery settings ... it should however give a slightly better image.
A better quality image in not the same as better performance.

Your first sentence there ...

Everything you said after this sentence in order to give an example does suggest your text and blurry issues are directly related to your video card.
It is not that your card is necessarily faulty ...
As you say yourself ... your issue suggests you are stressing the card's capabilities at 3840x1024 (with out turning stuff down) and so it suggests you need a video card that can handle 3840x1024 (with out turning stuff down).

Performance of your video card has nothing to do with your cables ...
The TH2G Digital along with the correct cables should however give you a better quality image but as I said earlier ...
A better quality image in not the same as better performance.

Perhaps I didn't make myself as clear as I might have. I don't think there's a video card out there that will allow you to run FSX at the top settings with complex add-ons without incurring graphics problems. Everyone I know has to dial back their settings to some extent. My question was given my video card, would upgrading to the digital TH2G allow me to push my settings higher. The answer seems to be no. Sorry for any confusion.
