I know that you have to use 19" monitors (I think that limit is still present, I would love to use 3 x 24") ... However, what are the best monitors to use? Does anyone have a favorite, I have a 9800GX2... What would be the best combination.

I understand we can get even higher resolutions now? Into the 5000's x 1050?

We've just posted (tonight), a new TH2Go FAQ. Let me know if it answers your questions. If not, we'll need to put some more time into it:

Awesome Info..

The only thing it doesnt really answer though pertains to the size of the monitors.. As in, Ok I understand that I can use 3 x 1680 x 1050 monitors..

But the only monitors I know of that support that resolution of 20 inches and well 22 inches (and larger obviously) ... So does that mean I can use 20 inch monitors with surround gaming? Hell, can I use 3 x 22 inches?

Yes, you can use 3 x 22" monitors with native resolution of 1680 x 1050. In this setup, you will get optimal resolution as there is no upscaling involved.

Some members here are also using 3 x 24" (1920 x 1200 natively). In this case, 1680 x 1050 is upscaled to fill the full 24" panel. Image quality degradation is reportedly to be very small.

How is performance with 3 x 24 inch?

I have a 9800GX2... would that be sufficient? I have a 2407ultra sharp from dell, if I picked up a few of the cheaper 24's from dell, does anyone know if this would work?

Im planning on using this setup for warhammer online..

Ibrin did make a nice review about this, and here it is

You can see that 3x1680x1050 isn't tested, but that wasn't available at that moment

Using three 22" monitors (native 1680 x 1050) or three 24" monitors (native 1920 x 1200) does not affect performance (ie framerate). Regardless of either, the TH2Go unit outputs 3 x 1680 x 1050 signals. 22" monitor displays the signal natively while 24" monitor displays a full screen image via its internal upscaler. So, as far as framerate is concerned, there is no difference. The only difference is whether or not you will accept the upscaled image quality. And, btw, 9800GX2 should be more than sufficient to drive 3 x 1680 x 1050 resolution (except Crysis, of course).

The drawback of using 2407 UltraSharp in the middle and two cheaper 24" on the sides is that color variation between monitors may be noticeable if you are very picky. However, this variation, if any and noticeable, can be done away with some tuning.
