I was searching around this forum and couldn't find any info on this subject.

I read a review saying that DX9 was restricted to 4096x4096 pixels but apparently the 3x 1680x1050 res works.

I also read a post saying that a user has added 3x 1600x1200 to the available resolutions.

Can anybody confirm this?

I currently have a laptop running 8800M GTX 512mb cards in SLI with a DVI Dual Link out.

I also have (2) Dell 2001FP standard aspect monitors and was hoping that I could run a third and have them all going at 1600x1200. That would be ideal anyways.

Whether or not I have the muscle to game at that resolution is another story ( although I should assuming it is not Crysis ) but desktop use would be amazing.

I have yet to purchase a TH2GO-Digital but I am seriously thinking about it, but not if I have to run my desktop or games at 1280x1024.

New user here, excited about surround gaming.

I don't think it can be done. It is not a resolution that is available to TH2G users.

My mistake, I think the user in that thread was using 1600x1200 on only two displays, but still using a TH2G.

I wonder if its possible though, 4800x1200 is 5.76megapixels. 5040x1050 is 5.29mp

Too bad if it doesn't hehe. Thanks.

I doubt it, they had to cut out three frames every second just to get 5040 to work. But I keep advocating 16 bit color depth then maybe you could do 5760*1200 at 6.912MP man that would be sweet.

Either the review you read is slightly incorrect or you have slightly misinterpreted it. What is actually true is that hardware that is DX9-compliant is restricted to a max res of 4096x4096. Hardware that is DX10-compliant is restricted to a max res of 8192x8192. However, this DX10-compliant hardware can run resolutions greater than 4096 in DX9 applications.

In any event, 4800x1200 exceeds the maximum bandwidth of the TripleHead2Go (at least at 32-bit color depth), so 4800x1200 is not possible. You can do it with SoftTH, though.

can we do 3x1920x1200 in 16bit ?

would be a sweet option too since that's my native resolution.

I think going back to 16bit colour would be a mistake, remember the difference between 16/32bit textures in Q3? It hurt the framerate so bad back then, but it was worth it!

We must also take into consideration the fact that we do not know if lower color depth can actually allow more pixels to be pushed through the cable. Perhaps the DVI and VGA specs were not designed to use less bandwidth at lower color depths. And even if they are, is the hardware capable of supporting that feature of the interface?
