When I change views in FSX - for instance between VC and Spot - then a "Loading Scenery" picture comes up for about ½ a second (black screen with central black on white message saying "Loading Scenry 100%"). It usually happens the forst few times when I change between views after starting up FSX, but it can also be seen later in a flying sceance. It does not happen in Windows-mode, only in Fullscreen-mode.

My Hardware:
Intel i7 CPU 920 2,67 GHz
RAM 6 GB
Windows 7 (64 bit)
Nividia Geforce GTX 260 (new driver)
Matrox TH2Go with 3 22" monitors (Acer p221w)

Any idéas to whats wrong here?

Hi

How much ram does your video card have?
If it has 512Mb, that might be what's wrong.
I would get a black screen for a second when bringing up the ATC, etc windows. That was fixed by unticking AA in the fsx menu. No loading scenery message though.
I'm using a GTX 285 with 1Gb of memory.

Thanks Butch_N!
My GTX 260 has 896 MB.
I wonder how I could optimize my hardware? Because besides the problems with the black loading screen I also have FPS's around 13-20 and the movement is not fluent. Wonder if a new graphics card and/or a new CPU could make things better? Do you have a suggestion?

I get the black loading screen problem in full screen mode with FSX at 5040x1050 on a GTX 480 and Windows 7 x64. FSX also keeps crashing in this mode. In window mode these problems don't happen but I get tearing using TrackIR 5 due to VSync not working properly in window mode.

Have tried all drivers. Same thing happens at 4320x900 and at 3840x800.

This was never a problem for me with the GTX 285 on XP x64 at 5040x1050. I'm now wondering whether it's a Windows 7 issue and I'm considering going back to XP.

i7 920 @ 4.2GHz, Asus P6T Deluxe v2, 6GB DDR3 RAM, 1536MB GTX 480, Digital TH2GO, 3 x Dell 2209WA, W7 x64.
