Have a i7 930 clocked @3.8 but only have the one GTX285 card. Will the projector below work for me to run a 100" screen in a dedicated little bat cave? I have a room that is 7 feet wide and 12 feet long that I intend to use for a flight simulator using one flat screen for now. http://www.aboutprojectors.com/Sanyo-PLV-Z4-projector.html Intel Core i7 930 2.8GHz 1366 EVGA X58 SLI LGA1366 mobo G.Skill F3- DDR3 1600 3x2GB ram Corsair TX850 Power Supply WD Caviar Black 500GB HDD Samsung SH-S243D/BEBE 24X DVD Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Coolermaster Hyper 212 Heatsink Coolermaster HAF 922 Case |

projectorcentral.com has a handy calculator to find out if your projector will project the screen size you want with the space you have. It's what I used to find that your projector can only project a 100" screen from a minimum of 10 feet away which means the 100" screen must be on the 7' wide wall which is impossible because at an aspect ratio of 16:9 a 100" screen is 7.25' wide. |

Post subject: | Just check projector central |
Just check projector central and I did the calculations as well. The screen would be on the 7" wall , the projector on the ceiling about 12' back. From that distance I should be able to manage a 80" screen. I was more concerned if the projector would be suitable with a computer and I believe that it will work OK for the short term. I'll upgrade to a better projector later, maybe go with two short throw on a curved screen. I am limited in this space but it may be ok for what I intend to do. Thanks for the reply btw. |
