So do the new TH2G's have the new firmware already installed or do you have to update is yourself when you bought it?

I emailed them and asked before I bought it.
They said it would in fact, have the newest firmware.

It didn't.

How about this? :) From a Matrox email:

Original screen layout (default shipping firmware) is
1-2-3

After the new firmware is applied, the screen layout will be as follows;

When in a single screen resolution;
NA-1-NA

When in a dual screen resolution;
NA-1-2
(When using Apple cinema display’s the layout will be 1-NA-2, due to the size of the connectors)

When in a triple screen resolution;
1-2-3

Procedure is pretty straight forward.
- Unzip all contents into 1 folder
- Start MtxGXMUtilities
- Select Update your Matrox Hardware
- Point to the newout.pkg file

PowerDesk must be CLOSED before performing the update.

Yeah the Patch worked for me too! also fixed a startup issue I was having (Blank screen at start up).

However there is still an issue in my mind. Now when I play a single screen game I no longer have access to the 1,3 screens. IMO this would be useful for other UTils, DOCs, MAP etc

Is there any way to use the center screen but allow the 2 outer screen to continue displaying?

You can do this if you have dual-input monitors and you set up the secondary inputs on the side monitors as separate monitors in Windows.

Nope, I had to update it myself.

Like Mach1.9pants, there was an error during the backup procedure on my first attempts.

I think you have to quit PowerDesk AND set your display to 1280x1024 (ie use only one monitor) before launching the update program. Worked for me, I could create a backup file and update the firmware np. 8)

Guys, when you flashed the firmware on another PC, did you need to install the drivers for TH2G or just plug it in and flash it?

Also, are there different versions of the new firmware or did everyone recieved the same one from matrox? Could someone maybe upload the newest version?

Thanks!
