if you want to take a look at the game files you can use the Arch00 Explorer for the first F.E.A.R.

just google arch00 extractor and grab the "FEAR SP Demo arch00 Extractor" from filefront.

go to file->open and type *.* [enter] to be able to pick the arch01 files

There is a "clarity mod" out there that does just that.

ok i'm downloading the demo to c if the fix works becuase i can't get it working with the steam version :( it's a nocd as well

Well going from the quote that Mobster has from DF, I am in the majority! The hack has Left 0 Top 0 Right 640 Bottom 480 so I replace the Right and Bottom values with 5040 and 1050? Makes no sense to me, but fair enough. OK but it then says F5 enable F6 disable in the hack but * enable in the readme.
Neither seems to do anything for my Demo version...

lol , u saved me 1.8 gigs of demo download :P

i wanted to get the demo so i can c if it was my steam version, i guess it doesn't work on the demo as well?

Yeah, if we knew which No-CD to get it would help. Unless it didn't matter. But I wouldn't mind knowing, ya know?

upon further research, there is only 1 version of the fear2 nocd and that's the one i got lol! version 1.0.2240.0

My FEAR2.exe is version 1.0.2240.0.

The fix is working for me here... just tried it.. I dont have another machine to test it on at the moment.

Did anyone manage to get it working?

I have some time today to poke around a bit.

F5 enables the fix, dont press it until you are in game (weapon in hand)

for triplewide my settings are left 0 top 0 right 5040 bottom 1050

I tried installing the FEAR1 sdk to try and open the Arch01 files but it needs FEAR1 installed which I dont have.. maybe somebody with FEAR1 can look into this?
