Hrrrm, one would think they would have shipped my order by now. It's been over a week. I thought they had a holdup in customs awhile back but finally got their production run in a shipping crate. I still only have my paypal receipt and waiting on that shipment conformation email now. I guess they're backed up on shipment of the Turbo S $350 setup for some unknown reason. Send my the email shipment conformation already like I got on the clubsport pedals. :nudgenudge

I purchased the clubsport pedals on the 1st and they're already here on the 10th. God those pedals are nicely engineered...and heavy. This is no toy plastic piece of equipment. It has the finish of a brushed alunimun computer case.

I can see you now with like a xbox 360 controller in hand steering while your using those awesome clubsport pedals lol. It would be like owning a new corvette only to have 4 spare donut tires on it to drive with.

I reached conclusion that I am not making a purchase right now I just cant afford it and its more of a want than a need since I already have the momo wheel witch is quite nice. So I will revisit the current best wheels out there when I have cash to spare (16 or so years when the kids are grown up lol) the G27 deal is hard to pass but I feel I can find it for a similar price at any time just by hunting around for deals online.

Id love to hear your feedback about the wheel and pedals after you have more hands on time with them like a month or so.

Once I get the wheel I'll update things a bit with a post.

I decided to take it to the next logical step and piece together an authentic Porsche Boxster S simpit with ebay purchases and the rest of the odds and ins resin cast from parts of the Boxster in the garage. Here are my ebay steals so far. They all have very minor cosmetic scratches, but not that I noticed until I really looked. People just want to get rid of thier scratched up junk for cheap I guess.

The Clubsport pedals and a few 986/996 interior bits:

The "donor" car that I'll borrow parts to make molds to resin cast the rest with:

I've got a few deals in the works for a damaged dash, a stripped console and a damaged seat. I've already got carpet and trim and a shifter and boot on the way from won ebay auctions, so I'm pretty far along on the parts hunt. The rest of the minor stuff I'll just resin cast using parts off the car in the garage to make a mold of.

Here is a concept pic of what I'm shooting to build:

I just got mine yesterday. Installing it on my Playseat Evolution took a bit longer than expected. I had to drill a few holes through some surprisingly hard metal. So far, i only have two gripes: the accelerator pedal is too soft and there are no options for hard mounting the shifter on a frame.

The spring in the accelerator pedal can probably be changed but there is no way to install the shifter on the G25 shifter adapter without using a longer cable and driving some screws through the shifter casing.

If one were to purchase Porsche 911 GT3 RS Wheel -Clubsport edition- EU, what else if anything, would be needed to start playing? Do I need any accessories?

It's like playing a game bidding ebay and salvage yards for parts. I've found that you can get things for absurdly cheap it they're scratched in any way. All I'm missing is the dashboard core and the seat. I have a good price for those from a salvage yard though and will follow though on that in a few weeks.

I've come to the conclusion there are 3 types of sellers on ebay. The first type is the "my parts are worth thier weight in gold" new parts. The second type is "I'm parting out this car as individial parts because it's worth more as parts than whole" type. And lastly, the type I've been liking the most the "get this crap out of my garage" type.

Here is the current status of my 996/986 collection of crap for the simpit. The bottom 2 pics are things that haven't shipped yet. One person's junk is another's simpit.

I just need a dash and a seat and some very minor trim bits. Oklahoma Foreign has a deal for me on those two items though. Now if Fanatec would only hurry up and ship...and even answer their emails...Grrr.

I picked up Dirt 2 and NFS Shift today. I picked up NFS Shift because of the Porsche 997 demo they recently put out. It sold me on that game. I got Dirt 2 because people have been raving about it. No experience with it yet though. Steam is still downloading both as I type.

I ordered the GT3 RS Clubsports edition on Sunday, and received the wheel today. But no CS pedals. Reading around, looks like they often ship separately. Fanatec really should consider waiting for all parts of a set to get in before shipping. What the hell am I supposed to do with just the wheel.

The wheel looks great, feels pretty solid, and I love the feel of the Alcantara leather.

Anyway, there was some discussion on the paddle shifters on these wheels, and on the GT3, it's a button with a metal paddle plate screwed on. Size wise, the paddle plates are near the size of the paddles on my old red momo force wheel. And look to be smaller than those on the G25/G27. Here are a couple of crappy phone pics of the paddles:

Edit: Cool, Iracing recognized the new controller, and works with the pedals from my Logitech red Momo (the old pedals plug into the logitech momo so both wheels are plugged into usbs). Using the GT3 RS wheel with the old Logitech pedals, within a few laps I beat my previous best at Limerock - rookie Solstice by over half a second.

I have much better control now because the old momo wheel had very limited rotation. 270 degree total rotation, I think. Go pass 90 degree and the steering becomes much more accelerated... very non-linear. Whereas the GT3 RS wheel has 900 degree of rotation.
