Ok... I know I'm not the brightest guy in the world.... but I'm getting the prompts now.

I *think* what happened is that the first time I ran it, I had the fovfactor set to something I read earlier in the thread.

I must not have ever run it at the default FOV..... which solved my problem.

Doh!

I believe this is how the confusion came about ...

Non triple wide users had the prompts in the demo ...
Triple wide users did not get the prompts in the demo ...

BUT it wasn't recognized that it was the screens aspect ratio/FOV that was causing this.
Confusing.

A lot of people were unhappy with the FOV being too close to the character ... both triple wide and non triple wide users
A FOV solution was found which helped with the view but now non triple wide users also had no prompts.

Again no one recognized that it was the FOV change that caused this ...
Confusing.

Then doing some screenshots for my skins I was messing with various FOV settings in triple wide when I noticed that I suddenly had the prompts.
So I began testing ... the out come is ...

Triple wide users loose the prompts with any FOV under 1.7
Non triple wide users loose the prompts with any FOV above the default of 1.0

I'm running at 5760x1080 and I'm getting the prompts at 1.7 fov.

It's a tad fisheye now and I feel like I'm just slightly too far back from my character.

You don't have to use 1.7. The absolute minimal value for the hijack prompts to work appears to be... 1.67. :hide

default

/fovfactor=1.7

/fovfactor=1.67

Hydralisk_X reported that 1.7 works for 48:9 as well... So chances are 1.67 will work, too. :?: I'd love to know what gives with 5x1, though.

I am trying to register on the EIDOS forums to register my interest in a fix also (if their confirmation email ever arrives, and yes I have checked the junkbox).

No one likes to be held to ransom, but it's simple. If they fix it, I'll buy the game. If they don't, I won't. I'll find some other game that does support multi-monitor instead.

After putting near 100 hours into the game on two separate machines (and FOV's), I must say that i prefer the 1.67 wider FOV that i need to alleviate the QTE issue. The default is WAY too tight.

Not that it's a reason to let the devs off the hook for what is a surely simple fix.

It's been coupel weeks since I've played it, but last i saw they hadn't released a patch. But seeing a flying mod cheered me up a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvA3IUQP670

Thanks for the interesting feedback. Worth being on 1.67 anyway, by the sounds of it?

Haven't seen a flying mod, will have to check it out. I didn't mind the flying part. Flight simulation is what I do for a living, I wasn't expecting anything less than arcade haha.

:cheers

First patch for JC2 has been out for a couple of days :) Those who own it on Steam should have it already updated. I dunno if the Steam version is the only version, as I can't find a download link for the patch anywhere! Anyway.. main thing of interest! ...

Fix to display quicktime prompts correctly when running in Eyefinity mode.
