Currently i have a Dell2005 FPW, which is a 16:10 aspect. After taking suggestions from another member, i purchased two 17" 5:4 monitors. Both have a native resolution of 1280x1024.

My Dell can run 1280x1024, but the images looks a little distored. Is there another combonation that would suit my setup better than 1280x1024x3 or is that my best bet?

Also, is it possible to run windows in a dual monitor configuration while im not gaming and have the middle screen run at 1680x1050 then switch to 1280x1024 when i play games?

Last question is, how much of a hit in FPS will i see? My system specs are as follows:

DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-D Socket 939
2Gb Gskill PC4000
2 x BFG Tech Geforce 7800GTX 256MB in SLI
AMD X2 4200+ Dual Core overclocked to 2.7ghz
2 x 78GB WD Raptor 10000RPM in RAID 0

Triple 1280x1024 is probably best for you, although the TripleHEad2Go is not desinged to be used with a widescreen monitor in the middle and 5:4 monitors on the sides.

With the latest Matrox update you can run dualhead, but the available resolutions are 2560x1024 (double 1280x1024) and 3360x1050 (double 1680x1050). The unit does not allow for assymetric dualscreen use. However, you could run your center screen in single-screen mode at 1680x1050 (just set this dekstop resolution and the TripleHead2Go will put it on the center monitor and put the other two in standby, and then run other monitors off of other video card outputs at their own resolutions, if you have monitors with dual inputs.

You have a pretty hefty system, so you shouldn't see too much of a framrate hit. It will be most apparant in game that are already GPU-limited on your current system.
