Hey guys. I don't have the funds to purchase all the equipment at once, but I found a pretty good deal on this monitor:

Dell E207WFP
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-5123

Would this be a good start? This monitor is cheap as hell for the size, and the response time seems excellent. I will eventually just keep buying monitors until I have 3, then buy the triplehead.

Next question......I will be buying a new rig soon as well, but my current one is a Dell 8450 w/ 1gig, 6600GT OC AGP, Audigy 2 & P4 3.06 W/HT. With my current rig be able to power 3 surround panels? thanks for all your input as I am a surround noob, but want one badly. Any beginner tips / info will be appreciated.

If you're going to use a 6600GT to drive triple displays, expect to do it at a low resolution such as 2400x600 (triple 800x600). At 2400x600 your system will be pushing approximately the same number of pixels as it does now at 1600x1200, so try it out and see.

I wouldn't really recommend that card for triplehead gaming. It's a better idea, although it obvisouly costs more money, to drive the whole display system with a powerful graphics card.

The TH2Go does now support 3xWS, but it only does so at 1280x720x3 and 1280x768x3...

is that a bad res? right now I game on my 22" at 1024 x 768, plus I also have a slightly underpowered system for surround gaming. would that res still look good, and what size wide screens can I get? I really like the price of the monitor that I have posted above......I can get them for 235.00 a piece! Has anybody used these for gaming yet / triplehead?

Here's a copy/paste from a reply I typed up a while ago discussing triplehead in widescreen:
If the TripleHead2Go really ran at 3 x 16:10, it wouldn't be too bad. That would be an overall apsect ratio of 4.8:1. But what it really runs at is 5:1 (3840x768) or 5.33:1 (3840x720). A 4.8:1 triple widescreen resolution would be 3840x800, but that resolution is not available using the TripleHead2Go.

So it's really best to use 5:4 or 4:3 monitors with triplehead.

ok, cool. So it would be just as easy to use 20" 4:3's as a 19"4:3's? Even with the increase in native res?

It would be just as easy, yes, but you'll want monitors with a 1280x1024 native res. That way the image isn't being scaled.

ok guys. I keep looking at the 19" monitors for ease of use with the triplehead, but I can't help but love the widescreens and the sheer size! If you had your pick for a great immersive triplehead setup.....which of these 2 would you pick.

3 of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014111

or 3 of these:
http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/11/dell-busts-out-e207wfp-20-inch-lcd-for-the-budget-set/

The dell looks bad ass, and a great bargain for the price, but will it be a pain in the ass to run triplehead on them cause they are widescreens? The ben q's are nice too and have a stupid fast response time, very thin bezel and are in the perfect native resolution. Both prices being equal, which would you all choose?

... yes ... I have 3 x Dell 2405's (widescreens) ... and I don't like it ... see the post by JKeefe above ...
Here's a copy/paste from a reply I typed up a while ago discussing triplehead in widescreen:

Because of this I don't use my TH2G with the 3 widescreens ... I keep them at their native res (1920x1200) and just use the centre screen for widescreen gaming.
