All good and well, but is it me who is a bit dissapointed that the max. resolution still is the same as the analog version. Same for the (pretty low imho) refresh rate of 60hz  . Maybe it is my lack of technical knowledge, but afaik DVI connections were invented to give bigger (resolutions) and faster (refresh rate) data transfer especially when connected to LCD monitors.

I understand there must be a limite in data transfer and an upgrade to 4800xXXXX compaired to the stock 3840x1024 is pretty much. But since most people have a 20inch or more monitor (x2 or x3) it would feel strange to only be able to enjoy those screens on 1280x1024 resolution (while most are 1600xXXXX as native resolution). I suppose for gaming this can be more then enough, as more would mean a pretty downwards performence hit on the FPS, but especially for desktop and programs (photoshop etc) it looks a wast of unused resolution when having a 20" or more screen.

Just wondering what the real benefit would be in the end compaired to the old analog version. I don't have one, as i was more or less hoping they would make a digital version, but i had hoped it would be an upgrade instead of an alternative. But again, maybe i'm missing the point here..so feel free to correct me.

 sorry my bad. I searched the hardware section, instead of a full forum search. Mods, feel free to lock this one (sorry).
