Hey, basically just like my title, im in the market for a monitor stand for my eyefinity setup. Although i just cant justify £300 for an Ergotron. Plus i just can't afford this atm. So i thought about making my own, either out of wood or arylic. Obviously wood would be initially stronger, but im able to get acrylic(5mm/5mm+) cut with flamed edges etc, so this would defintely look neater. Although im still in the early stages, coming up with a design and somehow need to test  Has anyone else here done this themselves, or is there any threads i just happened to miss? Also i presume this is the correct place to post? (Wasn't sure) |

Hey, basically just like my title, im in the market for a monitor stand for my eyefinity setup. lol yeah I did, someoen ganked all my power tools so I built my eyefinity monitor stand with hand tools. An old fashion saw, screw driver, hammer, nails and found some scrap wood laying around the cellar. Its definatly gotten the job done, I just need to sand it and paint it and add some fuzzy speaker box stuff to it and it will look ok. But here is the simple design I came up with. http://img121.imageshack.us/i/imag0033b.jpg/ |

Not bad ;) Although I'm looking to make something similiar to the Ergotron stands, one stand that holds all 3 at once. Definitely need to start sketching ideas, although funds wont be available for a while  |

Not bad ;) I was able to make one out of wood for only about $20-30; however, I don't have a camera ATM. So here is an awesome paint rendition. My only gripe with it is that i didn't use strong enough brackets for the side monitors so there is some wilting. Used: 3/4-inch plywood, 12x M4- 30 or 40 screws w/ washers (VESA screws), 6 Metal Brackets, and 3/4 self-tapping hex head screws Board dimensions: 2 15x8, 1 24x8, 1 20>10x15, 2 6x15 |
