Greetings,
I am considering replacing my 3x22" monitors with 3x27", and have a few questions in regards to 2D Surround Gaming (not interested in 3D).
This Acer 27" appears to be a good deal, smallish bezel. Needs to have DVI input.
I will have them on my desktop at first, but would consider a triple-mount.
Asus VE278Q 27-Inch LED Monitor
$309

1) With $300 each a price point, are there other monitors you would recommend?
2) Does LED make a difference pro or con?
3a) With my existing dual GTX480s, will going from max 5040x1050 to 5780x1080 noticeably reduce framerate? (18% more pixels).
b) If so, if I change game resolution back to 5040x1050 on the new monitors, will I lose sharpness?
4a) Would portrait be worth the trouble? Seems that 3x27" would be awesome in portrait mode, which would also reduce the side stretch. What percentage of games work portrait?
b) If portrait is indeed bad a$$, can you recommend a monitor that supports rotation?
Thanks in advance! This is one of those purchases you are "stuck" with for a while, so though I would pick your brains.
