I'm looking to build a new rig this year, and I am planning to run a six monitor setup with preferably 24-26 in monitors.

I am not sure which side of the fence to go, I know I do plan to obviously multitask, and I do mid-heavy gaming.
I need to be able to pick between gaming on 1, either 3, or all six of the monitors, and I need to be able to use the other 3/5 freely while gaming.

Which multi-monitor driver support would be best? What kind of setup am I looking at. I have a partial build on a newegg wishlist that I will link to at the bottom of this thread.

Games like WoW, SWTOR, Skyrim, GW2, Anno 2070, Civ V.

Nothing too intense. I want them to run on ultra buttery smooth, and on high-MAX settings.

Am I going to have what it takes to power through everything with this rig?

I also haven't decided on a monitor or stand yet.

If someone could let me know if I'm going in the right direction with this so far I would greatly appreciate it.

Also if someone could point me in the direction of some guides or provide me with some insight into daisy chaining DP, and the benefits of it.

What are the hardware requirements am I going to be faced with? Is there a controller needed for this?

As well as point me to some good monitors with thin bezel's and high quality screens.

I'm new to this and wanna hear from some more experienced people on this.

Thanks!

Nvidia surround only supports 3x1L +1 extended Monitor!

If you want to span all 6 Monitor in a 3x2L you need AMD Eyefinity!

And about quality... I run 2x7970 in a 3x1L 5760x1080 resolution!
Its not enough Graphicspower to get all games in High Quality to 60FPS.
For gaming over 6 monitors you would need double the power!

Well, like Haldi said to game on six monitors you need at least 2 hd 7970 to run it on low i think, and if u want to go high settings with good fps you need 4 hd 7970 to run it.

6 monitors is cool but it wont give you the same view as 3x1. 3x2 is kinda zoomed in but it will give you a little bit of extra view. so if your not interrested in more view then 6 monitors could be cool.

Also if you like shooting games the crosshair will be between the bezel of the middelmonitors.

With this fov calc you can see a preview of 6 monitors if you adjust the settings.
