...and it is crap, not only have the drivers knocked a good 30 or 40 FPS off BFBC2 but it has also put it back to having the HUD elements sitting in the bezel/ not all on the centre screen again. Total fail...

...unless it runs BF3 like a breeze and I'll never fire up BC2 again!

I played BC2 with the beta drivers for about 3hrs last night and I had no issues.
It was the first time I played BC2 for more than 30mins with a BSOD since the new BC2 patch.

Well the latest BC2 patch fixed the CTD in surround issue, I have never BSOD with BC2 though.

I have had no CTD's with the new patch on BC2 . But I only just updated the drivers last night to play BF3 beta and I have noticed a significant drop in FPS almost half . But I thought it was due to the game .

It feels a little choppy on bf3 in surround, even when locked at 60fps. but it does max out my vram, even in low setting so 1.5gb dosent seem to be enough for surround in bf3 beta, hopefully it will be optimized

My attempts last night in the early beta cross posted from polycount.
Even though I couldn't get much resolution the wide resolution gaming made me giddy. ( I loved the metro map )

As for the widescreen resolution settings:
4333x768 was the last "stable" multi monitor rez I could get .
Anyone have/tried better luck with eyefinity instead?
( used the new B3 beta by nvidia )
Funny thing is my performance remained very reponsive at all resolutions till I
hit that resolution wall. Even at ultra settings...
( I suspect that most of the setting do nothing for now )
( although 3d vision didn't pretend to be enabled in the gui... IE. during refresh the
checkbox would always revert back to "off" )

I crashed at higher resolutions with memory exception errors.
( Afterburner showed each sli peaking @ a little over 1450 MB of 1500 on each card )

(h20) Dual SLI GTX 480 [OC: 905/2050 1.125v]
(h20) i7-980x [oc: 4418.5MHz]
6 GB [oc: 1600MHz Triple channel cas[9, 9, 9, 24]]
installed on 256 meg c300 ssd

I imagine any dual SLI ( GTX 580 3000 MB or GTX 570 2560 MB ) will handle the
higher resolutions in Battlefield 3.

I am hoping that after the final tweaks to the beta and Nvidia driver that my
current setup will be enough for my current preference*:
"*Bezel corrected resolution of 6080X1080 With either 3D or 120mhz enabled"
"works fine with crysis 2 using a generous pick of enthusiast settings."

Hopeful for my current setup since "The same last stable resolution before
crashing Battlefield 3 easily feels more reponsive in
The Battlefield Beta then in crysis 2 or metro 2022 at the same resolution...
( Unless there is someamemory intensive magic that the frostbite engine needs fer the
release of it's final graphic showstopper ).

In which case...
The immersion level I get from the talented folk here and otherwise ( any Dice gurus here? )
is worth the price. Tho I might wait/save fer kepler or maxwell...

I have 2x nvidia 580 3GB GTX's in SLi with the 285 beta drivers, running the BF3 beta its pretty much smooth at 1920x1080 60Hz with almost everything maxed.

Then i swap to 5760x1080 and it goes all slightly choppy, makes no difference between either low or high BF3 settings.

I don't believe most the setting are enabled yet.
At first I thought I needed the 3000 meg cards or tri sli for memory to get the wider screens. But the steep peformance drop u git as well seems to point towards simply more tweaking on Dice and Nvidia's part.

I am experiencing the exact same thing on eyefinity. It has to be the game. It's totally bizarre too. At first I could run 5760x1080 with about 40-50fps on Metro, but it gets awful very quickly and unplayable. 1080p runs like a dream. Heck I was getting 90-200 fps on Metro (200 was in the tunnels of course). As soon as I try a high resolution, it can't handle it. I have no way of monitoring how much vram is used on my ati cards, but by the looks of things they're overloading cards. I wonder if people who have 3GB cards are experiencing issues.
