Just got a second 670 gfx, configured for SLI, and 3 24" monitors

Connecting the monitors is really confusing.
for surround, need 2 on gfx1, and 1 on gfx2.
for max 3d, display port gets the spotlight, but monitor on gfx2 gets switched off.

If i put them all on gfx1, they all work with max 3d, but
if i switch to surround, the display port monitor (center) switches off.

Can i fix it so i can have all my monitors 'active' in all modes??

Hi

Not 100% sure what you mean by "max 3d", but if you mean 3ds Max the Autodesk application then im all good. :)

When using 3ds Max you should not use Surround or Sli, its not supported and you wont be able to utilitise all vram and CUDA cores for rendering etc. Not even sure the nvidia 600 series at all is supported with CUDA yet for Autodesk, its supported for the 500 series, wich I'll stay with until 600 is supported, if ever :(
The only supported mode is to run all cards standalone without Sli and Surround and only use the standard "activate all displays" mode.

So stay with the recomended connections that nvidia tells you to use for surround, and when you wanna swith to gaming, you go to nvidia panel and enable Sli & Surround and disable it when you want to be creative in the 3ds Max.

I'll do this, but have 3-way Sli of 580 3GB, one monitor connected to each card and have to swith in the nvidia control panel to switch modes.

Best of luck!
