Budget aside for the moment...do you have recommendations ?

I have a ASUS P9X79 WS and have six DELL 1908FP-BLK Monitors which use a DVI-D connection.
I am looking to get MUCH more powerful graphics cards. I currently have NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 (runs 4 monitors) and a Quadro NVS 290 (which runs 2).

I would like to upgrade the graphics cards so I can work on game programming with Unity and UnReal engines.

I am willing to use two cards that run 3 each, if needed as long as they work together.
I am HOPING NOT to have to upgrade these old monitors (for now)
I am running Windows 7 pro about to switch to 10.
I need a modern and powerful chipset...

Thanks in advance..

What is your Setup? All Monitors Extended or do you have an surround/Eyefinity 3x1 Setup?
DVI-D is not a Problem as it's working kinda well with DP->DVI active Adapters.

I only have older Quadro cards now so no eyefinity...
I have six dell monitors stacked 3 wide by 2 high.
I figured I would need active DisplayPort-to-DVI adapters

Just trying to figure which card(s) to buy?

I was thinking 2 ASUS cards since they seem good and match my MB.. but I am open.. to best option.

Any suggestions?

Sadly I don't know much about game development, nor Quadro or FirePro GPU's.
Do you prefer AMD or Nvidia?
And are you looking for a professional card again or more like a gaming card?

Cards that Support Eyefinity 6 (5 as well)

If you want a modern card, get an 290x and use an MST Hub, and run the other 3 off dvi, dvi, hdmi->dvi. Also note, the monitors with have to be in 3x2 if you want all the monitors to be stiched together in eyefinity mode (which is fine it seems since I just read your full post). You will be able to play at 3840x2048, but that will put a horizontal bezel right in the middle of your screen. You may want to break it up into 3840x1024 sections.
