This is a big deal since I am so close to buying my 3x 24 inch monitors.

But it has come to my attention that less and less 16:10 monitors are available due to making 16:9 a standard.

Maybe going 16:9 for the future of gaming? It's just when I see a good monitor and check the damn aspect ratio is freakin 16:9. And the only one that suits me is the dell u2410.

I feel your pain. I was wanting 16:10 so I could achieve 1200 pixel height in games that only like 4:3. It took more hunting than i would've liked, but I did end up with what i wanted. I just had t go to another city to get my U2410. (which I'm pretty happy with, btw) And the two TN monitors by HP make pretty good side displays. But getting the colors to match was a pain in the ass., and They're still off a little bit.

As for future-"proofing", most properly made games can run whatever resolution your OS sees, so that's not really a worry. 16:9 may be the new standard, but 21:9 TV's and monitors are already popping up, so I imagine 16:9 will be dead within a few years. (or at east as dead as 4:3 is now).

So unless you need the 1200 pixel height, as I did, then 16:9 will be just fine... Then again, if you want to use your 3x monitors in portrait mode, a set of :10's woudl give you a wider picture than 3x 16:9's...

And 3x24 is larger than i had imagined.. make sure you have the deskspace and power outlets to accommodate.

I very much doubt that. Much wider than 16:9 gets pretty ridiculous for everyday tasks. I think we'll have 16:9 for a very, very long time.
