my years old hitachi 17" lcd is finally getting retired and i had planned on replacing it with one of the 22" 16:9 1080 monitors that have begun popping up. however, using some rebates and cashbacks i can get the Dell SE248WFP down to a wallet-friendly £220-ish. anyone have experience with this monitor?

primarily it will be used for gaming or watching some blu-ray discs when i want to escape the in laws. the fact that it's a TN panel with a limited viewing angle doesn't really concern me as i will probably be the only person that ever uses it.

my hitachi has a response time of around 20ms, i think, so even if the dell isn't the fastest, it will still be a massive improvement over what i currently use. a nice balance for movie playback and gaming is what i'm after, and think the monitor is worthy of consideration, especially considering the price.
