http://www.mlani.com/mobi The MOBI is a patented PC/PS3 dual controller that is compatible with all games, and features a completely customizable button set. With a right-hand mouse for targeting prey and a left-hand grip for full motion control, the MOBI is the most advanced controller in the world. Sign me up! |

While I do definitely like the mouse, AND the idea of more console titles supporting one, I can't say for sure I like the motion control device. It also sounds like "most advanced controller in the world" is a bit hard to believe considering they don't refer to any motion sensing capability whatsoever. It could not in fact have any AND be compatible with all games. For those whom want it, that is the most unfortunate thing about motion sensing such as the Wiimote has, the games have to be written for it. My idea of the ultimate controller is the In2games Fusion, which uses both RF and ultrasonic technology to perfectly track motion. It's even more advanced than the Wiimote in that it can be used for aim function without the trade off of having to always aim it at the screen to avoid screen spin. The only problem is it's a 3rd party controller and games have to be written for it. IMO it's the type of tech Sony and MS should be receptive to and encourage developers to write for though, if not make a similar controller themselves. Another thing that makes me skeptical about this MOBI controller is that not a large percentage of PS3 games are KB/M compatible, so why would they say ALL PS3 games work with this mouse? Perhaps it has software similar to Xpadder that emulates Sixaxis controller functions via a mouse and this half gamepad looking motion controller though. That being said, any way I look at it I still like it much better than gamepads. It's definitely a big step forward for the PS3. A lack of fast, precise aiming has always been their weakness, the mouse takes care of that. The ironic thing is though, despite the PS3 being the best next gen console graphically, the Wii is actually stealing the exclusive title thunder lately, even though it comes from slim beginnings title wise, save for the cartoony kid titles. I was a bit shocked when I learned both the Dead Space and Indiana Jones upcoming titles will be on Wii exclusively. |
