It's for real this time!

It was like what 2 years ago we saw teaser photo's of it at CES or something and it was never released to the public?

But now they have officially announced the new M17X notebook and the curved display are coming out to the customer market.

The M17X is out now, a combo machine from Alienware and Dell its "cheap" compared to older AW models and one of the most powerfull laptops out there currently. You can get it with a quad core mobile cpu, DDR3 ram and GTX280 SLI for just over $3000ish.

I would really love this monitor, no bezels in the way, and no need for a matrox, but I am sure its going to be outrageous in price, and its not thin like lcd's its much closer to CRT size.

Rumor has it that the Monitor is going to be $8000. At least that's the price floating around for the one by NEC (looks to be by the same ODM).

The screen looks sweet.

I hope all monitors will look like that in the near future, but seriously - 2880x900 pixels for twelve times (?) the cost of my current 5040x1050 TripleHead setup... :| Gotta hate bezels.

3360x1050 would have been nicer. Not too insane a resolution, but still good.

Yeah, and you can STILL see lines where the individual lcd panels are adjacent to one another.
