Been on the phone with dell just now after having my 3x u2410 a week now and I am not very happy about the tearing issue on this monitors.

And they said it's just those models we can't help you and told me I should just trade them in and get some other monitors instead.

But to se so many people with u2410 do they really coop with that issue?

I can certainly recognize tearing, and have never seen it on my single u2410 ver. A00.

Go here http://widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18129&start=0&hilit=u2410+firmware
to see info on a firmware update. I don;t think your problems is listed, or your displays may be the newer version already.

This problem you're having IS separate from vsync settings, right?

Yeah it's tearing no doubt, dithering is something totally different. And the funny thing on that part about the firmware is that on the sticker on the boxes of my 3x u2410 said rev a00.

But when I used the dell tool and tried to flash it the same version was already flashed. So I guess the sticker on the box ain't accurate then :P

Well to be honest I have never needed to have v-sync enabled before but if the ISP are more sensetive to that then sure but I have it application enabled in ATI CCC but to be honest I don't notice any difference which I should.

But my 3x HP w2207 (TN panel) sure it happend sometime that a small tearing cames up but thats nothing compared to this u2410. And I would say any u2410 without tearing is faulty if they don't happen to have something I don't. Because even the youtube clips of this monitor is showing tearing.

Anyway the only conclusion might be that the CCC ain't really enabling v-sync even tho it's saying it is.

Keep in mind I can't tell how this monitor is peforming in single usage but I have to base it on the same setup as my old one.

My setup is 3x u2410 in portrait mode 3600x1920

I never saw any tearing in my landscape config which i used extensively. I just did some testing in portrait mode, but don't remember any tearing. Have you tried setting it up in landscape to see if it still tears?

Well ill check that when I get back from work. But how is it when you play fullscreen videos? for me the ones connected with DVI are tearing but the DP connected one ain't tearing at all.

I am like should I expect tearing while playing a movie in such high resolution or it should be perfect?. I played same clip on all 3 in clone mode and no tearing so at least the monitor is perfect in single mode no tearing at all I am guessing when you go that far up in the resolution you just have to live with it.

Anyway lets see what happens when I get home :)

Tried the landscape mode now and yeah there is tearing but you don't notice it as much as the portrait mode.

And movies wont expand that wide so ain't really fair testing.

But again the DP connected monitor ain't showing any tearing so I guess a radeon with 3x DP port is needed for my setting to work :/

Further testing showed that with both

Reduce DVI frequency on high-resolution display
Alternate DVI operational mode

marked. The tearing is almost gone in landscape mode in 5760x1200. But as always the DP connected monitor just seems to be rock solid thru all mode's/setting whatever.
