Hey guys i have been out of the loop for a while, short backstory. I have a GTX 295 that im using for 3 screen gaming along with the softth software, but this does not work that great since i have to go through ALOT to setup each game to work. Now from my understanding the ATI 5970 can run 3 screens fairly easily. But i would like to know exactly how it does this, for example do i just have to plug the 3 screens in, then in the game setup menu put it to the correct resolution and that be it? Or do i have to play around with the games setting/ini files and whatnot just like with softth? Thanks guys

You should read up on it more, theres a whole forum about it ;)

Basically to answer your question: Yes. For most games all you have to do is enter the game and select your resolution.

There are some quirks though... For example, you must either have at least 1 display port capable monitor or you have to buy a $100 adapter.

Well you have to use an Active adapter, these range in price from $20 to as much as $170 depending on what type of adapter and where you're located. VGA seems to be the cheapest and most reliable of adapters, but you have to deal with an analog signal and a resolution limit around 2048x1536.

O ok, knew there was a catch. Right now i have three 22in acer monitors. One does HDMI the others do DVI. So i would probably need a DVI adapter. Thank you for the help

Either a MiniDP->VGA or a MiniDP->DVI (Active, it'll have a USB cable hanging off of it for power)[Also a MiniDP->DP then a DP->DVI (Active) will work too.

No, not good.. Does not work. I got fairly good succes with a Apple active mini-DP to DVI adapter.
My ACCEL mini DP to DVI active gave me a lot of trouble since 10.4.

You could also try the HP DP to VGA adapter. Lots of people have great succes with this. but i don't know if it works with a VGA to DVI Cable (i assume you only have DVI or HDMI connections on your monitors?).
