I am not up on the fan scene at all. I have an old Panaflo.

27 Dba
42.7 CFM

I use it on a heatsink for the cpu. It runs on a 3-pin attached to the motherboard.

I only have this one so I decided to pick up 2 more CPU fans.

Panaflos are old but were great. Can I get something newer with that CFM or better running quieter?

Try one of these...
Vapochill Extreme (73.6cfm / 29db)
or Noctura nf b9 1600 (~37.8CFM / 17.6db)

I have a couple Noctua 120mm's using rubber mounts, and they're great. A little pricey, though. But ya, they be quiet. I also have those 120mm.. uh.. Silent-something-or-other with the white blades. It's also great. And sitting in a box with its' twin.

The SPCR review has the vapochill at 39dba instead of 29dba.

I think the SCAN thing might be a misprint.

However, I believe my heatsink can do 92mm and 120mm fans. I think I bought it to upgrade to a quieter 120mm but never did so. But it is a Thermalright and I don't remember my exact model. Their website has similar looking things but not exactly the same.

Anyone have anything like this that can do the 92mm and 120mm fans?

That is a Panaflo FBA09A12M on the heatsink FYI.

Well I picked up a Venomous X - rt and a Scythe S-Flex to run in it. No more fan whine and the system is quieter overall. My CPU load temp is now lower than my previous idle temp.
