Sticky thread at the top of this forum you should have a look at: [#6821] Really useful web tool you should know about: PSU Calculator Short answer, if your not overclocking, your probably be fine if its a good 750W PSU, if you are overclocking, you might want to beef it up a bit. |

well that was a fail on me, I've been on forums long enough to know that there should have been something stickied like that. Thanks for the info, this will definitely come in handy. |

I'd be surprised if power draw increased any significant amount moving to that 3930K (unless you overclock it, when it will start to gobble power) from an i7 930. The most power hungry thing in modern high-end systems is really the GPU. |

Post subject: | She was unsure as well, I |
She was unsure as well, I didn't see it doing much more, but apparently under load the upgraded motherboard and CPU do draw more, she was looking online and posting on other forums and it was recommended that she upgrade. so she has orderd and XFX 1250 http://ncix.com/products/?sku=65627&vpn=P11250BEFX&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1259 Thanks for the input guys :) |

Post subject: | If i overclock my i7-3930K to |
If i overclock my i7-3930K to 4.5ghz @1.38V and my two HD7970 to [email protected] i get 770W power drain. If i undervolt my two 7970 to 0.9V and 925mhz, CPU to 4ghz. i get 440W! Stock settings CPU to 4ghz is 550W :) (tested with Unigine Heaven 2.5 Peak Wattage! so no full cpu load. But hey, it's a 125W (or was it 135W ?) TDP CPU!) |
