Hey guys, glad to be here!
I currently have a Dell 2408 1920x1200 monitor and mostly play strategy-type games and MMOs and watch blue-rays (I never play FPS's and I'm not into graphic design). I'd like to upgrade my resolution to get more immersion out of my games, and I'm trying to decide between a refurbed 3008 or a new 2711 for about the same price ($750 for the 27" and $830 for the 30").

What do you guys think? I'm a bit worried that I will be disappointed with the 2711 because it will be too similar to my 2408.

**Edit**

I'm running x2 GTX 570

My roommate has a 27" 1440p monitor and I have a bunch of 30"rs. When I sit at his rig and use his monitor, It feels like he took a 24" 1920x1200 monitor and made it slightly wider.
With a single 30", the screen just feels huge. There's no other way to describe it. I've never had the thought that my 30" was too small, unlike the multiple 23"rs I had.

BTW, I do have a Dell 3008wfp I'm selling if you're interested: For Sale Thread

If you can go to an apple store and sit in front of a 30" monitor, they are huge, and in my opinion worth the price. My only concern with refurbs is dead pixels. They are not as bad as times past, but under the refurbished badge it might be bad...it might be great...its worth looking up their policy prior to purchase.
