Post subject: | Hardware for 3 Monitor Gaming |
After my post as a newbie this appears to be the correct place to post this:- I have recently rebuilt my P.C. to be able to run games such as Far Cry 3 at max graphics etc and run smoothly which I am pleased to say it does. But now after seeing screenshots and members comments I wish to extend it to three screens. My questions are:- Will my current specification support three screen gaming? Do the bezels create any issues? Presumably I will have to purchase two more monitors of exactly the same type. Current Specification, Corsair CC-9011049-WW Obsidian Series 450D Windowed Mid-Tower ATX High Airflow Performance Computer Case Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU ASUS Z97-K - motherboard - ATX - LGA1150 Socket - Z97 Intel Core i5-4690K S1150 3.5GHz 6MB Devils Canyon with Heat Sink Fan Quad Core Processor Unlocked Corsair Hydro Series H60 2013 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) Vengeance Pro Black DDR3 1866MHz CL9 Memory Asus AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB PCI-Express 3.0 HDMI WD 1TB Blue SATA 6GB/s 7200RPM 64MB 3.5" Hard Drive Samsung 24x SH-224DB DVD-RW SATA OEM Asus VG248QE 24-inch 3D LED Monitor - Black (1920x1080, 80000000:1, 144 Hz, 1ms, DVI Display Port, HDMI) Corsair CH-9000022-EU Vengeance M65 Performance FPS 8200 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse - Black Logitech K360 Wireless Keyboard Genius GX Gaming SW-G2.1 1250 - 38W 2.1 Channel Gaming Speaker System Windows Home Premium SP1 Currently nothing has been overclocked. Thanks Guys. |

Hi. Yes you can simply buy 2 other Asus VG248QE Monitors and plug them in. The 280x does have 2x DVI right? If you wish to use 144hz Eyefinity or 3D Eyefinity you need to check first if both DVI ports are Dual Link /Digital. I think you can manage 60FPS in 5760x1080 if you go medium to high details without much AA. But 144hz or 3d will probably only work on Low settings. If you don't want to use these features you could just buy any two side monitors. It's simply recommended to buy identical Monitors because they have the same color correction and brightness. The bezel are not really a problem. As you automatically start to ignore them after a few minutes of gaming. Or that's what's normally happens |

The R9-280X does have 2xDVi, 1xHDMI & 1xGP. What angle should the two outside monitors be in relation to the middle screen? |

that depends on the distance and viewpoint. Just try out a few different ones. You'll see when you'll like it. |
