I've always seemed to have a problem in certain games where the edge of the screen looks stretched in-game. Depending on where the camera is, when the camera is close the edge then the image seems to look stretched. I am using the LG 29" 29EA93-P monitor.

Look at the picture below, in top screenshot the image on the Right side is stretched, bottom screenshot it is not.

I noticed this happens in a lot of games. Is there anyway to fix this or are widescreen monitors just made this way?

In the real world all points of the horizon are at the same distance from the viewer: you're standing at the center of a circle.
In games, the point right in front of you is closer than all other points in your field of view: you're at the center of a square. Hence the distortion, even at a 1:1 aspect ratio. UWS just "pulls the curtain" even further than HD.

Bottom screenshot is just as distorted, btw. The ledge and windows to the right appear closer than they really are...
