Hi Everyone,

I'd like to get you input please.

I've been running a 3x26" screen eyefinity for some time, it's nice but I've decided to make the move to 21:9 for personnal reasons (space / bezel etc).

I mainly play FPS games and I'm used to 60 hz screens.

I did alot of research and decided to buy the DELL U3415W running on my 980Ti hybrid.
I installed it and it's fantastic, tons of plugs, great picture etc.

BUT

I'm now second guessing myself for not finding a screen with a faster refresh rate / response time / Hz
given the recent tendancy for very low MS response and 144+Hz.

So I've been looking at other monitors including the Acer predator Z35 and I'm intrigued but it has much lower resolution and I keep hearing ACER has a bad reputation (poor service / scanlines etc.)

So after all this, here's my question:

I'm debating wether to kepp my DELL, Ttrade it in for a Z35 or get something else int he same size but that has a much faster Hz/response.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, are there other monitors I missed ?

Please keep in mind:
--I'm looking for a 21:9 screen in the 35" range, (give or take)
--Money is no object (within reason,m say up to $1200)
--I'd like a reliable product that is fast and has a great picture.
--I mainly play FPS games
--G-sync would be nice...

Thank you for your time

I've got an LG 34 inch that is pretty similar to your Dell (34 inch 3440x1440 60 hz) and I've got to say that I find the desire for these higher end monitors seems crazy to me because of the graphics card power required to run them. Here's my reasoning.

1920x1080 @ 60 hz: 124 million pixels per second
2560x1080 @ 60 hz: 165 million pixels per second
3440x1440 @ 60 hz: 297 million pixels per second
3840x2160 (4K) @ 60 hz: 497 million pixels per second

2560x1080 @100 hz: 276 million pixels
3440x1440 @ 100 hz: 495 million pixels per second

As you can see high resolution ultrawidescreen at 100 hz requires about as much pixel pushing as 60 hz 4K does and that's basically impossible on current graphics cards. Based on that I doubt you're likely to actually see those high frame rates in FPSes on high settings.

So for an extra $500+ for the monitor (they will definitely be in the neighborhood of $1200) and then god knows how much for 4K pushing graphics card(s) I don't think it's worth it right now.

GSync is probably cool though.
