Hello chaps

As some of you know the FOV in BFBC2 is customisable in the settings.ini (see http://badcompanytwo.com/news-tidbits/bc2-field-of-view-guide/) but what angle of horizontal FOV should i be choosing for Eyefinity 5040x1050?

This calculator can be used to calculate horizontal FOV (as the BC2 settings.ini uses vertical FOV) http://rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php

TIA

Someone on another forum did the math and came up with this:

Dice was kind enough to add a Field of View adjustment into the game's INI file, available in the My Documents folder. As it ships with a 4:3 ready field of view, for 16:9 and 16:10 monitors adjusting it to 59-80 seems to be the best way to go at this point. Go to http://rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php t get the right FOV for you.

A little more help on the FOV situation:

4:3 (1024x768)
-----
FOV90 (Recommended) = 74
FOV100 = 84
FOV110 = 94
-----
5:4 (1280x1024)
-----
FOV90 (recommended) = 78
FOV100 = 88
FOV110 = 98

16:9 (1280x720, 1920x1080)
-----
FOV90 = 59
FOV100 = 68
FOV110 (Recommended) = 78
-----
16:10 (1280x768, 1280×800, 1440×900, 1680×1050, 1920×1200, 2560×1600)
-----
FOV90 = 65
FOV100 (Recommended) = 74
FOV110 = 84

I find his recommended FOVs way too high though, personally.

Yes, they are definitely too high.

You pretty much just need to pick a number between 60 and 70.

I am using 65 for multiplayer at 16:9 and find it very nice... in singleplayer I am putting it back on default to avoid visual glitches at higher FOV.

Kind of annoying switching back and forth, but the campaign only lasts so long.

The FOV change doesn't affect SP for me at all. I think I have mine set at 70 right now. When I play SP, it feels like the default 55 again, and if I switch back to MP then it's at 70. It seems to be locked to 55 for SP for me at least.

What does this mean for eyefinity players though? I've been using the default fov and it hasn't bothered me too much at 5856x1080, but does anyone have another FOV they would recommend for my res?

I believe it changes back to default in SP when you load a new level. Maybe even when there is a cutscene... I know it DOES work though, because of the part with the boat where my FOV made the squad stand and sit in the wrong places until I set it back to normal.

It means nothing really, the game is still Hor+ through triplehead and will likely be certified, the FOV change is purely optional on top of that. If I did the DR I would mention it, and the flaws associated with it, but outside of grading and the normal DR format.

Changing the FOV and using Eyefinity makes the game look horrible! The FOV change is only applied to the middle monitor giving u huge fish eye on the centre monitor and massive stretching on the sides. I've actually gone back to 1 screen for this game :(

this happens on nearly every game whether when using eyefinity or not.
