Hello,

I have a dual setup here with two 19" LG screens (1440x900 - 8:5). I use these mainly because they're cheap
and the apparent flaws don't bother me that much. These screens have VGA output only, so I was wondering :

Would it be possible for me to hook up three monitors with VGA to DVI-adapters to a Matrox Triplehead Digital edition?

Other question is about my rig. The Matrox support site says that 3x1440x900 isn't supported
with Crossfire on 4800-series cards, but I'm beginning to wonder that it's either bogus or
outdated since I think I've seen people with crossfire setups running triplehead just fine.
Not on that resolution though but I really question, why that resolution wouldn't be supported.

My computers specs :

AMD Phenom X4 9850
Sapphire Radeon 4850 512mb crossfire
4 gigs of ddr2
Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard
Windows XP Pro 32-bit SP3

In a nutshell : Will VGA work via adapters and will Crossfire work?

I'm one screen and a TH2Go away from triplehead and I ask you is it worth it to invest in terms of system functionality.

You can hook your screens to TH2GO with adapters.

But you just cant use your those monitors with ATI. I have same sitsuation with you atm, with my HD 4870 X2. I'v tried in vista and XP to get those to work, but NOO. IT JUST WONT WORK.

Okay, thanks for the answer. I'm glad I returned the other 4850-card in warranty (got burned somehow because of mobo crashing, weird stuff) and I'm getting a new one replaced (hopefully) so I can just sell it straight away. The single card should be pretty sufficient for L4D anyway.

Is the crossfire related issue on every 3x16:10 resolution or just 1440x900? Would be pretty lame it the compatibility issues could have been avoided if I'd just hunted for some cheap 4:3 screens.
