I have windows 7 64 bit, and continue to use the 182.50 drivers. They will also work with windows 7 (in fact thats all that will work on my pc for triple wide).

Can i use windows vista 64 bit drivers of the 182.50's for windows 7? I googled and can't find the windows 7 64 bit version.

So I used the Vista 64 bit drivers and it installed smoothly, however when I install any version of the powerdesk and ran the wizard, I would get an out of range error msg displayed on my monitor.

I can then choose 5040 x 1050, but the out of range @ 50/48 htz error makes no sense. Why does it try to display it at 50 htz is beyond me.

So, I created a custom resolution. Voila! the resolution has changed, but I get a "Custom mode test failed" box pop up. My resolution changed and it seems stable (played games with the error msg box left up), but once I click ok, it reverts back to 3840 x 1050 :T

So, I did another clean install of my 182.50s and did not install power desk this time and did the custom resolution trick. The same thing happens.

As a temporary solution, I guess I can leave the msg box open and do my thing, but it's extremely annoying and the chances I might alt tab and press enter accidently to have it revert back while I am gaming would suck!

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try using the beta Matrox Powerdesk software?

Yes, it was the first PD that I tried since I use to use that to fix the out of range problem i was having with vista.

On windows 7 it still gives me the out of range error.

I am now on the 177's and tried the beta PD again; still gives me an error.

I set the custom resolution and it works now.

I was enjoying the latest drivers with dx 10 support on vista 32 bit and windows 7 only now works on incredibly old drivers /sigh

You should be able to simply close (Alt+F4) the nvidia windows without losing the current res. ;)
Proper Win7 drivers from Matrox are on the way, hopefully these will help...

Got it working thank to you. Here is my thread describing all the troubles I had. the big thing I did not do at first was where you said this

"Special Note: On reboot if Windows automatically reinstalls an Nvidia display driver you will need to uninstall it again making sure to choose the option to delete the driver from the system and reboot again.
(This mainly applies to Windows 7) "

after allowing that to happen, it worked.

I also did what was suggested before and testing the CVT reduced blank first, then inputing all the manual numbers.

the 4320x900 problem:
the left, the right or both monitors have a big black bar like this:

(is it normal the the settings in the custom res are changed when applied?
like 61Hz etc)

the 5040x1050 is not possible

I could not find the old GXM software (2.4.0.11). That's because it's actually listed as 2.04.00.011. It took me a long while to find so I thought I'd provide a link for the rest of you.
