Read Full Detailed Report - Sniper Elite

Sniper Elite, also known as Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945, is a 2005 tactical shooter developed by UK-based video game developer Rebellion Developments.

The main character is Karl Fairburne, an American OSS secret agent disguised as a German sniper. He is inserted into Battle of Berlin in 1945, during the final days of World War II, with the critical objective of obtaining German nuclear technology before the Soviet Union does.

The game follows protagonist Karl Fairburne as he attempts to prevent the Soviet Union taking control of Germany's nuclear secrets in and around Berlin, April 1945. Very little information is known about his background, other than he was raised in Berlin as the son of an U.S. ambassador to Germany before the war broke out, that he studied at West Point shortly after America's entrance into the war, and the fact that he was chosen for this mission because the city was his childhood home.

Is it just me, or is the 1600x900 shot both cropped and stretched worse than the 1920x1200 one?

The buildings don't looks as distorted...

Omigosh...is the the same game I previewed at E3-2004?? Boy, they sure took their sweet time getting this game out, hehe!

Thank you for the excellent screens, Paddy. I wonder why they offer 1600x900 and not 1680x1050? That 1600x900 shot looks painful, I would suggest some Jenny Craig pronto for that sniper.

I wonder if this is a game better played at the normal 4:3 aspect ratio?

I think it is plays and feels fine at 16:9 ... 1920x1200 ... unlike many that just stretch the width out to fill the screen.

@Stretch......I'm pretty sure 1680x1050 res. is supported, as well as 1280x720. I also think that it's actually 1920x1080.

@ BlindRat ...
What makes you think that ?

Stretch and I have almost identical systems ...
If it isn't given as an option on mine I'm pretty sure it won't be given as one on his.

The resolution options I get in the game ...

If I choose 4:3 I get offered ...
640x480 .... 800x600 .... 1024x768 .... 1280x1024 .... 1600x1200

If I choose 16:9 I get offered ...
1600x900 .... 1920x1200
