Just wondering how you find out the "native resolution" for widescreens. I have a 2407 24" Dell. I'm into BF2 so maybe if i find this it'll help my fps. I am using an ATI Radeon x1600pro.

A 24" widescreen monitors native resolution is 1920x1200.

A native res is the res equal to the number of pixels in the screen. So the Dell 2405/2407 native resolution is 1920x1200. The 2005/2007 native res is 1680x1050.

CRT displays don't have 'native' resolutions - although they do have maximums. The 'max' on a TFT is it's native. The reason native resolutions are so important is that some TFT's don't have very good scaling circuitry, and so resolutions lower than the number of pixels look distorted/ugly/wrong/insert-bad-word-here... ;) Text can look particularly bad at non-native resolutions. However, many TFTs now scale much better than the early TFTs.
